The forum will first hear the invited participants’ priorities and ideas, then hear IAIRO’s perspective, before moving into open brainstorming and deciding how to take promising areas forward.

The chair will guide the flow so that each participant and IAIRO have room to place their points before the group moves into joint brainstorming.
Dr Amit Sheth will open the forum, introduce the purpose of the discussion and invite brief introductions.
Each invited participant may share current priorities, ideas, challenges and areas where collaboration may be useful.
IAIRO will share its priorities, capabilities, open questions and the areas in which it sees potential for collaboration.
The group will explore common interests, possible connections, partnership opportunities and ideas worth developing further.
The session will close by capturing promising themes, follow-up conversations and the people who will carry each item forward.

Applied AI, public systems and responsible deployment
Dr Alpan Raval leads applied research at Wadhwani AI and supports responsible deployment of multimodal and speech-based AI, with people retaining oversight of consequential decisions.
A physicist by training, he has more than two decades of applied AI experience across academia and industry, including leadership roles at LinkedIn and Amazon, research at D. E. Shaw Research and faculty work at the Claremont Colleges.

Dr Piyush Kumar Sinha is Dean & Principal of MICA, leading the institute’s academic vision and strengthening its academic excellence, institutional impact and global standing.
He has more than four decades of experience across higher education, entrepreneurship, marketing, retail, strategy and institution building, including senior academic work at IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, XIMB and MICA.

Artificial intelligence, multimedia, computer vision and future health
Prof Ramesh C. Jain is a founding member of IAIRO, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Computer Science at UC Irvine, and Co-Director of its Institute for Future Health.
He is an educator, researcher and entrepreneur whose career spans artificial intelligence, computer vision and multimedia information systems, with academic leadership at the University of Michigan, UC San Diego and UC Irvine.
